About the College

The National College of Colon Hydrotherapy (NCCH) was formed in 2005 from an amalgamation of two well-established and successful organisations, The National College of Holistic Medicine (NCHM) and the European School of Colon Hydrotherapy (ESCH). The combination offers the most experienced therapists and teachers in the UK, and the most comprehensive course available in colonic hydrotherapy.

NCHM was founded in 1985 in Bournemouth to teach Colon Hydrotherapy and Holistic Medicine; Dr Milo Siewert was in fact responsible for re-introducing colon hydrotherapy into the UK where it was almost extinct, and was directly or indirectly responsible for training the vast majority of practising therapists in the UK. NCHM had a proven track record, excellent credentials and a wealth of experience.

ESCH was founded in 1993 by Ann Blouet and Roger Groos to conduct postgraduate courses in colonics to existing practitioners; many courses have been held since that time in Eastbourne and Chard, and postgrad. workshops continue to this date. ESCH teachers have 45 years experience in Naturopathy incorporating colonics.

The combination of both colleges came about through an increased course length designed to incorporate both basic and advanced training; the course length is now 102 hours of tutored theory and practical, plus approximately 100 hours of home study. Since 2012, Roger Groos is principal lecturer with other experienced therapist teachers also employed.

The National College of Colon Hydrotherapy and its course is recognised by the Association & Register of Colon Hydrotherapists (ARCH), which is the largest UK association of colon hydrotherapists founded in 1987; successful completion of the course and certificate award entitles graduates to apply for membership. ARCH employs external auditors to evaluate our college for performance; our 2005 audit gave a glowing report.

NCCH carries out evaluation of all its courses, and from 2005 to 2012 achieved an average score from its students of 9/10 - we strive to ensure our students enjoy the learning process and are happy with our own performance!
